The Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union held the Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting in Kuwait.
In the joint statement, the GCC and the EU stressed that only political and diplomatic efforts can lead to a durable solution to the Iranian nuclear issue.
"The intensive diplomatic efforts with Iran, including during UNGA High-Level week...did not result in creating the conditions for a possible extension of the UNSCR2231," the statement reads.
At the same time, the Joint Council underlined that the return of sanctions does not mark the end of diplomacy with Iran. Its position is that only political and diplomatic efforts can lead to a durable solution to the Iranian nuclear issue.
