Azerbaijan has the strongest team in women's gymnastics at the Islamic Games, Indonesian gymnast Rifda Irfanalutfi said today in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"Overall, Azerbaijani gymnastics team is the strongest here," she said.
According to her, the national gymnastics arena is ideal and the level of organization of Islamic Games is exemplary.
She also stressed that the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku are extremely important for her. "I really need more experience in major international tournaments, and Baku Games gave me this chance," she said.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were included in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games for the first time at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
