Today, a People's Artist of Russia, director, actor and screenwriter Roman Viktyuk is celebrating his 80th birthday.
He was born in Lwów on October 28, 1936. He worked in theaters in Lviv, Kalinin, Tallinn, Vilnius, Minsk, Kiev, and Moscow. In the mid-1970s he began to stage performances in Moscow. The Maids by Jean Genet was staged at the Satyricon in 1988. Since 1991 – artistic director and director he established the Roman Viktyuk Theater.
