Rosatom and Dutch Lagerwey set up joint venture to produce wind turbines in Russia

NovaWind (part of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom) and Dutch Lagerwey have set up a joint venture for the marketing, sale and turnkey production of wind turbines in Russia, TASS reports.

The enterprise is created on parity basis and at the initial stage will focus on supplying turbines for the needs of Rosatom.

"The joint venture has the license to operate in 14 countries, but now we are focusing only at Russia, as we need to start production, to expand it, reach the required level of quality," Emin Askerov, Deputy General Director for International Business development at NovaWind, said.

According to him, in the future the joint venture may cooperate with international partners of Rosatom.

"A number of international partners working with Rosatom in a normal mode in the nuclear industry, are already interested in the possibilities (of the new project). But we ask most of them to wait - as soon as we have production, we will be able to talk about something specific," Askerov said.
