Rosneft Research and Development Centre was opened in Qatar, the company's press service said.
The centre was opened at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), sponsored by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).
The agreement on the opening of the entre was signed between QF chief executive office’s office executive director Omran al-Kuwari and Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin. Through the agreement, Rosneft and QF aim to establish a groundbreaking research and innovation hub at QSTP that will pave the way for new technologies, collaborations, and training programmes.
The agreement between QF and Rosneft will also support Qatar’s drive toward economic diversification and sustainability by enabling and accelerating the creation of new technologies that meet the needs of the energy sector at QSTP, a free zone and international hub for the development of market-ready tech products.
