Rospotrebnadzor: no lockdown due to monkeypox

There will be no restrictions in the form of a lockdown or remote work due to monkeypox in Russia, Natalya Pshenichnaya, professor, Deputy director for clinical and analytical work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor said, RIA Novosti writes.

"In any case, the spread of monkeypox will not be similar to COVID-19 either in terms of the speed and scale of spread, or in terms of the peak pressure on health, social and economic spheres. There will be no lockdowns, remote work", she explained.

According to Pshenichnaya, monkeypox is transmitted only through close and prolonged contact with an infected person.

Let us remind you that WHO is going to rename monkeypox to avoid discrimination.
