Russian federal health and epidemic watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has deemed the conditions in Turkey’s Antalya region unsafe for tourists, a source in the agency said,
"Rospotrebnadzor made a decision regarding the unsafe conditions for the health of Russian tourists in Turkey’s Gulf of Antalya region. The document has been sent to Rosturism [the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism]," Sputnik cited the source as saying.
According to the source, Rospotrebnadzor has coordinated this decision with the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In recent days, media reports have emerged claiming that the number of tourists infected with Coxsackievirus was growing in Turkey, with dozens of tourists allegedly forced to interrupt their vacation ahead of schedule.
