The head of Rostourism, Oleg Safonov, stated that his department will appeal to the Egyptian hotels which were paid for bookings, asking them to return the money to Russian tour operators.
"Right now there are two problems: refunds from the airlines, and secondly – tour operators paid advances to Egyptian hoteliers. We plan to appeal to the Egyptian hoteliers and the Egyptian authorities with a request to return the corresponding funds," he said.
Earlier, the head of ATOR, Maya Lomidze, believes that the return of money is unlikely, in which case Russian tourist companies will suffer serious losses, TASS reports.
