The tourism potential of the North Caucasus is 10 million people a year, the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Aleksey Konyushkov, said today at a round table titled "Caucasus - Homeland of hospitality" in the course of the exhibition "ITM-2016", the website of the Ministry of the Russian Federation on Affairs of North Caucasus informs.
"About 1.2 million people visited regions of the North Caucasus in 2013. 2.8 million people visited the North Caucasus in 2015. We estimate the growth potential at the level of 10 million tourists a year. In comparison with Crimea it is about 5 million guests a year," Eto Kavkaz cites him as saying.
