Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Teyyip Erdogan that the way is paved for further expansion of bilateral relations between Iran and Turkey.
Rouhani congratulated the Turkish president as well as the people and government of Turkey on the occasion of the Eid-al-Fitr.
He stressed that Tehran and Ankara should join hands to solve problems of the region, especially the issue of terrorism.
Stressing the need to expedite the previously reached agreements, he said that would be an important step taken for expansion of bilateral relations, IRNA reports.
Meanwhile, Erdogan also congratulated President Rouhani on Eid-al-Fitr stressing that Ankara supports expansion of cooperation with Tehran.
Terrorism can be defeated through cooperation, President Erdogan said adding that promotion of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Turkey was a must to this end, Trend reports.
