Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that there is no gap between his government and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"The Government stands by the supreme leader and is subordinate to him," IRNA cited Iranian President as saying.
Rouhani’s rivals criticize him for striking a 'bad' nuclear agreement, which, according to them, restricted the country’s atomic activities, while the expected economic results haven’t been achieved yet.
Rouhani also pointed out that during his presidency the inflation rate decreased from above 40% to 7%.
"Salaries of government employees and laborers increased 17% under the previous government [headed by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad], while the inflation rate was 40%. But during my administration, the salaries increased more than the inflation rate," Trend cited him as saying.
Earlier, Rouhani lashed out at media outlets affiliated with his rivals, accusing them of distorting news. He explained that his rivals tend to distort the truth as they are 'conspiring' in a bid to make the nation disappointed about the future, instilling the idea among voters that those who cast ballots in his favor during the 2013 presidential election, made a wrong choice.
Iran's next presidential elections will be held on May 19.
