Ruble down against euro, dollar by over 4-5%

The ruble weakened against the euro and the dollar by more than 4-5% during foreign currency trading on Moscow Exchange on Monday compared with the previous closing.

According to trading data as of 10:28 am Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was up by 5.15% at 80 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was up by 4.47% at 86.4 rubles.

The dollar exchange rate was up by 7.65% at 81.9 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was up by 6.25% at 87.87 rubles as Monday trading opened, which means the dollar and euro exchange rates gained more than 5 rubles compared with the previous closing.

The MOEX Index was up by 0.61% at 2,608.49 points as of 10:28 am Moscow time, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index was down by 4.87% at 1,027.35 points. As of 10:00 am, the MOEX was up by 0.13% at 2,596.17 points, while the RTS was down by 0.46% at 1,074.99 points.
