The national currency of Uzbekistan strengthened against the ruble by 11% in August, the country's Central Bank reports.
This way, if at the beginning of the month 44.37 som were given for 1 ruble, right now it is only 39.89 som.
Experts believe that the weakening of the Russian currency will not affect the development of bilateral trade relations, despite the fact that Russia is a major economic partner of Uzbekistan.
Previously, the country's authorities stated that neither the devaluation of the tenge, nor world oil prices would negatively affect the som, since Uzbekistan is not an oil exporter, RIA Novosti reported.
