This morning the dollar increased by 0.42 rubles and was worth 71.37 rubles, the euro rose 0.48 rubles and was worth 77.62 rubles at the Moscow Exchange in the first minutes after the opening of trading. The currency basket has increased by 0.46 rubles and amounted to 74.18 rubles.
The ruble is losing ground against the backdrop of decline in oil prices, which are coming close to levels last seen in 2004: as of 07:26 the price of a barrel of Brent crude dropped 0.86%, reaching $36.34, and the crude oil futures of WTI decreased in price by 0.73% to $35.8 per barrel.
