Rural teachers immortalized in Urvani

Today Russia's first monument to rural teachers was unveiled in the village of Urvan in the Urvansky District of Kabardino-Balkaria as a tribute to those who work in the educational system throughout Russia. 

The monument was opened on the initiative of the diplomat, Secretary General of the International Advisory Committee of the organizations of reserve officers and the reserve, Anatoly Kumakhov, who was born in Urvan.  The monument was created by the sculptor Khaziz Kuchmezov and designed by artist Sergey Laznikov.
