Baku is hosting the Trampoline Gymnastics FIG World Cup for the first time. Ruslan Agamirov, a representative of the Azerbaijani team, praised his performance as good and stressed that the team has every chance of participating in the final stage of the tournament and winning medals, a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.
"We have done everything we were preparing for. We had a little present excitement, as the event is taking place at home, and our supporters expect good performances. It also plays its role in comparison to when you participate in competitions abroad,’’ Agamirov confessed.
"He could have performed a bit better, but I think it is normal. Our athletes are next to perform. I hope we have every chance of participating in the finals and winning medals,’’ the gymnast said.
Agamirov told about himself. According to the sportsman, he is engaged in the trampoline gymnastics since the age of seven. He is 24 years old now, and he is "slowly growing’’. Now he performs at the international level.
Before the competitions that I couldn’t think about bad things, saying that "I should focus calmly on the training process and home. The more you start thinking about bad thinks, the more chances to perform worse. It is necessary to try to worry less and think about the good, rather than bad things…" Agamirov stressed.
‘‘Sport is a very difficult and unstable thing. You can be ready for 100% and come to something because something upset you plans,’’ he added.
The gymnasts that is supported by many people his relatives, team-mates, and athletes from different national teams, and friends in different cities of Azerbaijan and Russia.
‘‘The next major competition is the European Championship, which is to take place in late March,’’ the athlete said. "We intend to participate the finals. We should try to win medals…" he said.
