Syria-Russia relations are entering a new stage, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani said during talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
"Today, Russian-Syrian relations are entering a new stage, last year turned out to be significant for Syria, first of all, this year marked the end of the war that lasted 14 years," Asaad al-Shaibani said.
According to the top diplomat, Syria "seeks to forge balanced relations with all states."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the meeting in Moscow between his Syrian counterpart Asaad al-Shaibani and President Vladimir Putin addressed bilateral issues and the regional situation.
"I know that at yesterday's meeting ... you expressed your satisfaction with our cooperation on international platforms and your desire to deepen this cooperation," Lavrov said.
