Moscow hosted a bilateral meeting of CJSC Azerbaijan Railways’ director general Javid Gurbanov and President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, Russian Railways said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the proposals on cargo and passenger transportation, implementation of the International North-South Transport Corridor, the construction project of the Astara-Rasht railway, assistance in various projects and other issues, abc.az reported.
"With the purpose to increase the volume of cargo transportation via the International North-South Transport Corridor the two countries reached an arrangement at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side on the establishment of the Coordinating Council with its center in Baku," the report says.
Following the meeting, the sides signed an agreement on exchange of electronic data of railways cargo transportation.
