Kazakhstan and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the development of unmanned transport and digital technologies in the transport sector, the Kazakh Ministry of Transport reported.

The document was signed between the transport ministries of the two countries on the sidelines of an international transport and logistics forum held in St. Petersburg.

"The memorandum outlines cooperation in the digitalization of the transport sector, including the introduction of unmanned technologies and the transition to electronic formats for permits and shipping documentation," the statement reads.

The sides also plan to exchange experience and information, organize joint events, and provide training for specialists working with advanced digital solutions.

Earlier, Kazakhstan started developing infrastructure for training operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of the transformation of the EXPO territory into a new-generation technology cluster.
