Russia and Syria review bilateral agreements

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani confirmed ongoing talks with Russia regarding agreement revisions, though noting no new agreements have been reached.

"At the moment, there are no agreements. We have not yet reached any agreements. The main point of any dialogue with the Russian side is the revision of previous agreements",

Asaad al-Shibani reported.

The Foreign Minister added that negotiations include determining the future status of Russian military bases within Syrian territory.

The discussions follow interim Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa's Moscow visit this week, where he met with President Vladimir Putin and addressed military base matters with Kremlin officials.
