Russia and United States begin cooperating in Syrian airspace

The head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Andrey Kartapolov, said today that Russia and the United States held a joint military exercise on the actions of the crew and ground services in cases of dangerous approaches of their aircraft in Syrian airspace. 

According to him, Russian Air Force crews and the international coalition carried out approaching in a specially designated area at the minimum safety distance of 3 nautical miles, established signals and swapped messages about the parameters of their flights in the Russian and English languages.
