Russia celebrates Oil Worker's Day

Today Russia celebrates the professional holiday of workers of the oil and gas industry – Oil Worker's Day. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev addressed them with congratulations. The text of the congratulatory letter was published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Prime Minister stressed that this day is especially important for Russia, whose economy is based on the fuel and energy complex. "The stable operation of power plants, factories, trains, planes and cars depends directly on the results of your work. And most importantly – you give people light and heat," Medvedev noted.

The Prime Minister reminded that it was thanks to the employees of the oil and gas industry that even during the crisis Russia stably provides Europe and Asia with oil and gas.

Dmitry Medvedev also wished good health and success to oil workers, TASS writes.

The head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdullatipov, also expressed his congratulations, he recalled that there are oil companies, oil refineries and main transport organizations in the republic, which play an essential role in the development of Dagestan. The head of the republic noted that in recent years, for various reasons, Dagestan has reduced the level of oil and gas production, and expressed hope that the agreement on cooperation signed with 'Rosneft', which involves the participation of the company in the development of the Dagestan sector of Caspian Sea shelf, will provide the impulse to improve the situation.

Yesterday, Governor of Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov congratulated the employees of 'Stavropolneftegaz' on the Day of Oil Workers, it is a part of 'Rosneft', for which the professional holiday marks a jubilee – the 60th anniversary of the founding of the company, the press service of the head of region stated.
