The Russian Finance Minister, Anton Siluanov, said today that Moscow and Kiev were unable to reach an agreement on the issue of restructuring the Ukrainian debt, and then Ukraine must still pay the current debt of 3 billion dollars to the Russian Federation.
"The Russian Federation awaits Ukraine's debt repayment of 3 billion dollars, despite negotiations with Kiev," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Siluanov also appealed to the IMF on this subject. "Russia is not a commercial lender to Ukraine, this should be taken into account by the IMF while making decisions on financial assistance to Kiev," he stressed.
