"Russia is in my heart!" rally held in Russia

Patriotic rally "Russia is in my heart!", organized by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, is held today across Russia. Its participants want to demonstrate the unity of Russian people and support memory of heroes who fought during the Great Patriotic War.

"It 's symbolic that we hold this rally close to dates of celebration of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, which was a turning point not only in the Great Patriotic War, but also in the history of fight against fascism," secretary of the Public Chamber Valery Fadeyev said, RIA Novosti reported.

A rally-concert took place in Moscow. It began with demonstration of video clip "What does it mean to be a patriot?" on two huge screens.

"Russia always fought for peace, and today we still support freedom, we are against barriers in all spheres of life, be it sports, international relations or religion," organizers of the event said.

Concert was hosted by Svetlana Zeynalova and Alexander Marshal. People began to gather in front of the stage long before the event began.

Popular Russian singers Valery Meladze, Olga Kormukhina, Zara, Oleg Gazmanov, as well as People's Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoy performed at the concert.

According to official spokesperson of the Interior Ministry Irina Volk, over 60 thousand people attended in the event in Moscow.

Similar events are also held in Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tyumen, Leningrad, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Bryansk, Sverdlovsk regions, as well as in other regions of the country.
