According to the calendar of the 2018/2019 season's competitions, posted on the website of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), in the next season, not a single international biathlon competition is planned in Russia: even the traditional March Biathlon World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk has been canceled
The reason for this decision is the echo of the doping scandal: last year the IBU asked Russia to refuse voluntarily from holding competitions, but this did not happen, and in the autumn of 2017, Khanty-Mansiysk was excluded from the preliminary plan for the 2018/2019 season calendar.
