Over 500 airplanes and helicopters may be removed from the Russian aviation fleet by 2030, Dmitry Yadrov, head of Rosaviatsia, announced at today's meeting in the Federation Council.

"Our pessimistic projection with airlines estimates approximately 339 aircraft retirements—including 230 domestic aircraft aged 40-60 years and 109 foreign-made planes, plus 200 helicopters",

Dmitry Yadrov stated.

With Russian carriers currently operating 1,088 aircraft, the domestic fleet could shrink by over thirty percent in coming years.
