The Dnepr early warning system (EWS) type radar, headquartered in Mukachevo (Crimea), has been put into operation, but cannot fully carry out its work because of the lack of investments in it over the past 20 years, the Chief of Staff of the main center of missile attack warning, Colonel Viktor Tymoshenko, said during RSN radio broadcasting.
‘’Now we are going to make a decision on its modernization," Tass quotes him as saying.
Due to the fact that for the last 20 years Ukraine has not been investing in the modernization of stations, the current state of the radar does not allow it to operate at full capacity.
