Russia reports less than 10,000 new COVID-19 cases in a day

The number of COVID-19 cases in Russia has risen by 9,974 over the past day to 252,245, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported.

For the first time since May 2, the number of coronavirus cases recorded per day in the country was less than 10,000.

According to the crisis center, the daily growth in cases has dropped from 4.3% to a record low of 4.1%.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Moscow has risen by 4,712. New cases have been also confirmed in 84 Russian regions, including 918 in the Moscow Region, 460 in St. Petersburg, 98 in Dagestan, 97 in the Krasnodar Region.

Moscow Deputy Mayor for Social Development Issues Anastasia Rakova said that 1,821 people have recovered over the past day. The total number of people who have recovered from the infection has climbed to 23,327, TASS reported.

A total of 2,305 COVID-19 patients have died in Russia.
