Russia's Federal Guard Service General detained

Russian Federal Guard Service (FSO) General Gennady Lopyrev has been detained following an internal check that revealed signs of violations, the FSO reported.

During an internal inspection of the FSO held in its units in the Caucasus, signs of serious law violations were revealed, Sputnik reports.

"The check's materials have been handed to investigative bodies. General Gennady Lopyrev has been detained. Relevant investigative activities are underway," the FSO statement said without specifying details.
