Russia's Football Union to discuss national team’s FIFA World Cup results

The Executive Board of the Russian Football Union (RFU) is set to convene for a session in Moscow to discuss results of the national team’s performance at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, RFU’s press service announced.

The meeting will take place on July 26.

The participants in the session are also set to discuss the overall results of the world championship in Russia, which ran for one month and finished over a week ago, as well as issues of refereeing at domestic football tournaments, TASS reported.

Led by head coach Stanislav Cherchesov, the Russian national football team managed to reach the knockout stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup advancing with a win over the Spanish team in the round of Last 16 and then losing on a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals to Croatia, which eventually reached the final match of the world championship.
