Russia's pensions raised above subsistence minimum

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the re-indexing of pensions above the subsistence minimum. The text of the decree was placed on the official internet portal of legal information.

According to the law, at first a social subsidy will be established in the amount necessary to bring the pensioner's material support to the subsistence minimum in the region, and then pensions and monthly cash payments will be indexed,

According to the head of the Social Committee of the Federation Council, Valery Ryazansky, the payments will be received by 3.9 million people.
