Russia to host World Youth Festival next year

Next year, Russia will host the World Youth Festival, which will bring together more than 20,000 people from more than 100 countries of the world. A relevant decree  was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding the World Youth Festival in February-March 2024. A relevant document was published on the official portal of legal information.

"In order to facilitate international youth cooperation, I decide to hold the World Youth Festival in the Russian Federation in February-March 2024," the document reads.

Over the next three months, the Russian government will develop measures for the preparation and holding of the festival, determine the sources of its funding and assist the media in covering the youth holiday.

The head of state also approved the composition of the organizing committee for the preparation of the festival. Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, was appointed its chairman.
