Russia to start construction of NPP in Uzbekistan in fall

According to the Uzatom website, the construction of a low-power nuclear power plant will begin in Uzbekistan with the participation of Rosatom.

The first meeting on the upcoming construction took place in Uzbekistan with the participation of the Russian side. Representatives of Rosatom and Uzatom inspected the site where the joint project will be implemented.

"During the meeting, a protocol was signed on the entry into force of the contract for the construction of a six-unit low-power nuclear power plant. The delegation inspected the territory where work on creating the infrastructure of the future six-unit nuclear power plant would begin in the fall",

Uzatom said.

The contract was signed on May 27. It was decided to build the facility in the Jizzakh region near Lake Tuzkan. Rosatom will act as the general contractor of the joint project.
