Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russia hopes its coordination with the United States and Turkey in Syria will help security and stability in the region.
"We really hope that the steps that are being taken now — our interaction with both Turkish and American colleagues — will allow us not to lower, but to increase the level of security and stability in this region," Daily Sabah cited Shoigu as saying.
Speaking at the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, the Russian minister said the question of protecting prison facilities holding ISIS militants (the terrorist group banned in Russia) needed to be urgently resolved.
