The Russian Defense Ministry said that the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO in Europe Philip Breedlove is making every effort to ruin the relations between Moscow and the Alliance.
"All of his latest statements seem to be aimed at a single goal – to inflict maximum damage to Russia's relations with NATO so that it would be extremely hard to mend them," the head of the International Military Cooperation department of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Defense, Sergei Koshelev, said.
Earlier, Philip Breedlove suggested to send U-2 spy planes on surveillance flights over Russia. In addition, he urged NATO to strengthen its position in Europe to respond "a long-term existential threat from Moscow", RIA Novosti reports.
