A catastrophic situation is developing in the humanitarian field almost throughout Ukraine, said the head of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.
According to him, the most difficult situation is in Kiev, Mariupol, Kharkov, Sumy.
"The reasons for the emergency meeting are the already imminent humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol, in a city with a population of half a million, and the impending humanitarian catastrophe in Kiev with a population of about 3 million people, Kharkov with a population of up to 1.5 million people, in Sumy with a population of up to 300 thousand inhabitants, as well as in a number of other settlements", he said during a meeting of the interdepartmental coordination headquarters for humanitarian response.
