Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleg Salyukov, stated that in the last year the combat gear of the second generation 'Ratnik' was provided to more than 80 thousand Russian soldiers.
He reminded that the work on creating a complete set of 'Ratnik' was completed in March, noting that at the present time work on the creation of third-generation equipment has started.
"We have already begun work on the creation of third-generation equipment that will exceed its foreign counterparts, taking into account the forecast of its development till 2025," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
