Russian Finance Minister on second capital amnesty

Russia's capital amnesty will be held from March to December this year, the country's Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at the Gaidar Forum.

Siluanov said that whereas the results of the last capital amnesty finished in 2016 were not too satisfying, as only 7200 declarations were submitted, the ministry expects the new, 2018 capital amnesty to be successful.

He noted that businessmen used to worry the last time but their concerns did not fulfill. "We already have experience, see positive results. You’re welcome, if you have business problems abroad, transfer money here, declare what is registered on you, work here, in Russia," Prime agency cited the minister as saying.

Siluanov also said the government has no plans to raise the tax burden in Russia in the coming years.
