US President Donald Trump will meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the White House today, a senior US official said.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on the agenda would be Syria as well as US-Russian relations and other global issues.
The meeting will take place at 10:30 a.m. ET in the Oval Office and will be closed to press, according to the White House.
"Yes, it's true, a meeting with the US President is in the program," TASS cited the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.
Lavrov had planned to be in Washington Wednesday to meet with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Tillerson and Lavrov are scheduled to meet earlier Wednesday to discuss Ukraine, Syria and bilateral issues, the State Department announced.
