Russian Foreign Ministry: Russia allocates $34 million in aid to Syria

Russia has sent more than $34 million to Syria during the past few years, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said.

In addition, he noted that Moscow provides considerable humanitarian aid to Syria. "Our country regularly sends a part of means from its annual voluntary donor contributions to UNHCR in order to promote Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons,'' Gatilov said at the high-level conference on the world-wide sharing of responsibility in solving the problem of Syrian refugees.

"In particular, in the period from 2013 to 2015 Russian EMERCOM carried out 35 flights to Syria and neighboring Lebanon and Jordan to deliver more than 600 tons of humanitarian cargos,'' Tass cites him as saying.
