The US behavior in the world is unacceptable, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday, commenting on statements by US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook.
Hook said earlier in the day the United States would respond with military force if Iran attacked the US interests.
He also said the US was ready to impose sanctions on the EU's Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges, or INSTEX, designed to bypass US penalties against Iran.
"The aggressive behavior of the United States in the world goes beyond all imaginable limits. Region by region, state by state, people by people suffer from this deliberate permissiveness. With a stick in hand and a carrot in mouth, Washington began to 'control' the universe. We have already seen it and know the consequences," Zakharova wrote on Facebook.
