Today Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed in a telephone conversation that they would support the organization of inter-Syrian negotiations.
"When discussing the Syrian issues the parties reaffirmed their support for the efforts being made by special envoy of UN Secretary General Staffan de Mistura on the organization of negotiations between the Syrian government and the representative delegation of the opposition forces in order to achieve a political settlement,'' the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation informed on the basis of discussions held on the initiative of John Kerry, Tass reports.
