Russian Navy headed by Admiral Nikolai Evmenov

Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Admiral Nikolai Evmenov as Commander in Chief of the Russian Federation Navy; the decree was read out by the country's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

By the same decree, Vice-Admiral Igor Osipov was appointed Commander of the Black Sea Fleet and Northern Admiral Alexander Moiseyev was appointed Commander of the Northern Fleet, RIA Novosti reports.

Former commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Vladimir Korolev, who served for 46 years, joined the United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC.
