Russian economy to remain open

The Russian economy will be open. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, durung a meeting with young entrepreneurs at VDNKh on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He stressed that the closed economy was in the USSR, but the country does not intend to return to this now. "We did not have a closed economy. That is, in Soviet times, when we cut ourselves out, created the so-called "iron curtain", we created it with our own hands. We are not going to do this now, we will not fall into the same trap", TASS quoted the president.

He drew attention to the fact that Russia is not going to build a fence around itself now. "It's impossible to build a fence around a country like Russia. And we ourselves are not going to build such a fence around ourselves", the President of the Russian Federation added.
