Due to good performances by Nikita Ignatiev, David Beliavsky and Nikita Kuksenkov, Russia became the first champion at the European Games in the discipline of gymnastics with a total of 178.963 points. The Russian gymnasts completed their performance among the first, but none could beat their results.
The Ukrainian team won silver because of the final result of 177.429 points. An achievement was the bronze medal won by the Azerbaijani sportsmen Oleg Stepko, Petro Pahnyuk and Eldar Safarov, who gained 174.195 points, defeating the Belarusian national team with a score of 174.13 points, only with a few hundredths.
It should be noted that yesterday the Azerbaijani team risked not getting into the top five after Petro Pahnyuk injured his shoulder on the sports horse. Nevertheless, thanks to the timely help of doctors and his own endurance, the gymnast soon came to the platform and performed exercises on the rings as if there were no injuries.
