As reported today in the Investigative Committee of Russia, the structure opened a criminal case under Article 317 of the Criminal Code "Encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer" on the fact of the attack of militants on the parishioners of the Archangel Michael Church in Grozny. The criminal case on terrorist articles has not been instituted yet.
The Investigative Committee specified that the two soldiers killed in the firefight with militants guarded the church. The professional police actions helped to avoid a significant number of victims since the militants were not allowed inside the church.
