Russian gymnasts Alexandra Merkulova, Ksenia Stefu, Daria Tikhonova won gold medals at European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships in Baku. The girls got 20.1 points in the final.
Another Russian trio – Ekaterina Gridina, Zoya Ilmetova, Anastasia Vakhonina – took the third place with 19.55 points.
Silver medals were taken by Romanian gymnasts who got 19.95 points.
The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku welcomes FIG European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships for the first time. Athletes from 22 countries participate in the tournament. Juniors and seniors perform in individual exercises among men and women, mixed pairs, trio and groups, aerodance, as well as aerostep – only for seniors. There will also be winners in junior and senior team ratings. Athletes will compete for 15 sets of medals.
