Russian national debt down $2.6 bln YTD

Russia’s foreign debt contracted by $2.6 bln year-to-date, the Accounts Chamber said in its flash report on the budget performance in the first quarter of this year.

"The foreign debt of the Russian Federation stood at $57,143.2 mln as of April 1, 2022 (80.8% of the upper limit of the foreign debt of the Russian Federation amounting to $70.7 bln) and contracted by $2,558.8 mln or by 4.3% against the amount as of January 1, 2002 ($59,702.0 mln)," the Chamber said.

Foreign debt service expenses increased by 6.6% or by $24.6 mln in the first quarter of this year against the like period in 2021, the authority added.
