At the plenary session of the Russian State Duma,held earlier today, Oleg Nilov, the deputy of the Duma and the member of the fraction of 'A Just Russia Party,' addressed the audience with a proposal to redeem the Georgian TV channel Rustavi 2 and rename it.
Nilov suggested Vyachselav Volodin, the Speaker of the State Duma, not to limit themselves to economic sanctions that may be applied to Georgia, stating that the possibilities for redeeming the Georgian TV channel Rustavi 2 should also be considered. In addition, the Russian politician said part of the finances for this initiative can be obtained from the representatives of the Georgian diaspora residing in the Russian Federation.
Finally, Nilov offered to rename the TV channel from Rustavi 2 to Bagration 1.
