Russian satellite for Iran alarms the US

The Russian Earth Remote Sensing Satellite Khayyam, created for Tehran on the Kanopus-V platform, will make it possible to receive images with a resolution of 1.2 m and observe Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, the US edition of The Washington Post reports.

According to the newspaper, the spacecraft will become Iran’s third satellite and will significantly increase the country's capabilities. However, the authors of the article  write that Khayyam is inferior in its characteristics to many Western remote sensing spacecraft.
